Dowsing - Sacred Geometry in Action! (Application of Dowsing in Animal Health) Dowsing is an old science of precise measuring and adjusting any and all vibrations which exist in physical and non-physical world. Hence we can use dowsing protocols to assess animals health and correct it. Dowsers use instruments called: pendulums and dowsing rods. During this lecture we will talk about the most advanced pendulums, which are based on Sacred Geometry. Those amazing shapes can not only detect and identify vibrations in animal body, but also balance them, reverse their non-beneficial effect and adjust environment to the most advantageous level.

Lecture Titles (50 min. each) [Speaker requests that this 3 hr segment be called: " Mushrooms as (Our) Allies"] Mushrooms as Allies in Medicine Mushrooms as Allies for the Environment (Part 1 Mycoremediation using mushrooms to control waste products, toxins, and coliform bacteria) Mushrooms as Allies for the Environment (Part 2 Cordyceps as an Ally)
Lecture Abstracts
Mushrooms as Allies in Medicine Mushrooms and mammals share many qualities. We are both heterotrophic (requiring external food sources), we breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide and water. One result of these shared qualities is a fortuitous one for us mammals. Because in order to be able to successfully grow a fruiting body and disperse spores, mushrooms manufacture numerous compounds to protect themselves from the depredations of various pathogenic organisms --- viruses, bacteria, molds, parasites.
Mushrooms as Allies for the Environment (Part 1 Mycoremediation using mushrooms to control waste products, toxins, and coliform bacteria) Some of you may be familiar with the largest organism in the world, Armillaria ostoyae, this mycelial network spans 2,384 acres. Most mycelial masses are not this extensive, but mycelial networks can be commandeered to perform impressive feats on our behalf. They can break down complex hydrocarbon compounds, e.g. insecticides, herbicides, diesel fuel into just hydrogen and water. They can filter out heavy metals, they can kill coliform bacteria and prevent all of these substances from entering groundwater. So they can improve the quality of the water going in AND the water coming out of any given system.
Mushrooms as Allies for the Environment (Part 2 Cordyceps as an Ally) Entomopathogenic fungi (EF), such as Cordyceps spp., can be used to eradicate social insect colonies. In other words, these fungi can provide non-toxic, non-chemical ways to treat fire ants, termites and carpenter ants. These insects normally have elaborate defense systems in place to avoid infection by these fungi. Researchers have discovered ways to circumvent these defenses, target the colonies and eradicate them for several years following treatment. Two areas of obvious significance to Veterinarians: 1. Livestock & Fire ants 2. Household Pets and their Chemical Load.

Lecture Titles (50 min. each) **Extending Frontiers in the Art of Medicine** Keynote Lecture Understanding Autoimmunity and Related Disorders (Part 1 – Introduction) Understanding Autoimmunity and Related Disorders (Part 2 – Genetically Based Immune Disorders) Novel Approaches for Managing and Treating Autoimmune Disorders
Lecture Abstracts Extending Frontiers in the Art of Medicine This keynote address will be a surprise – summarizing the art of medicine from the perspective of a classical research scientist, turned clinical scientist, who then saw the true “light” after first joining AHVMA and meeting our extended holistic family in 1977 !
Understanding Autoimmunity and Related Disorders (Part 1 – Introduction) The essential role of the immune system is to maintain the body's overall general health and resistance to disease. The focus will be on environmental factors or events which may cause or trigger immune dysfunction leading to either immune deficiency or immune stimulation (reactive or autoimmunity). Related to these events is the development of cancer, a disruption of cell growth control. Understanding Autoimmunity and Related Disorders (Part 2 – Genetically Based Immune Disorders) A list of the number of documented heritable autoimmune disorders of humans and animals is alarming, and continues to grow as we continue to damage and pollute our universe.
Novel Approaches for Managing and Treating Autoimmune Disorders Standard allopathic treatments for immunologic disorders can be augmented or replaced with holistic alternatives and homeopathic remedies. Rather than suppress the immune system with corticosteroids, alternative means of down-regulating the cytokines that trigger cell-mediated immunity can be used. Some clinicians use biologically active glandulars such as multiple glandular supplements or thymic protein. While thymic extracts may be most appropriate for treating immune dysfunction and suppression, they could be harmful if used in immune-mediated and autoimmune diseases. Other treatments that balance and modulate the immune system and offer immune support include: plant sterols and sterolins, bioactive botanicals, and medicinal mushrooms.

Lecture Titles (50 min. each) Nutritional Assessment of Dogs and Cats A Light Speed Primer on Nutritional Metabolism - The Essential Nutrients Nutrition-responsive Diseases
Lecture Abstracts
Nutritional Assessment of Dogs and Cats Holistic veterinarians frequently advise diet changes (and get big results) in pets with chronic medical disorders. These improvements could be due to resolution of classical nutrient deficiencies - or something else. This talk covers evaluation of the diet and the patient for nutritional inadequacies, and how to test for these problems. A Light Speed Primer on Nutritional Metabolism - The Essential Nutrients There are approximately 40 essential nutrients. Homemade and some prescription diets can stress the patient by providing these nutrients at marginal levels. This quick review of how the 40 essentials act and interact in the body will help the practitioner discuss basic nutrition with clients who often believe they are better educated than their veterinarians. Nutrition-responsive Diseases Many clinical conditions that we see are manageable with diet changes and special diets, even though no nutrient deficiencies are involved. This talk will address common conditions such as kidney disease and food allergy as well as those that seem to be the special province of holistic practitioners - allergy, autoimmune disease, and other inflammatory disorders.
